Hi everyone. I am helping a friend sell a few items as she's not on this site. If you are interested in purchasing anything, get in touch with me via e mail or pm and I'll put you in touch with her. please e mail me or pm me with any questions concerning the mac book as I'll be shipping that for her, and, I just finished getting it ready for its new owner so can answer any technical questions you may have.

2010 Mac Book laptop computer:

I just did a total reformat and clean install of OS X sl 10.6 and I life 09 so you'll be good to go. I also set it up so that voiceover, The Apple screen reader, will come on automaticly when you boot up the machine. Includes OS X sl and Ilife 09 dvds, all documentation, mag safe power adaptor, original box, and the Apple draw string bag they sent us home with from the Apple store. It is still under warranty and we also purchased the 3 year AppleCare protection plan. (Both can be transfered through Apple once you purchase the computer.) This is in new condition. The only reason we're selling it is because she wants to upgrade to a pro model.

If you get more than 500 for a braille note 18 classic, I'd be surprised, just saw a 32 go for $400 on ebay recently. As for the MB, obviously ebay is where I'd take it, I just bought the same MB with 4gb of ram refurbished from the apple store for $749. Apple care was an additional $200.

Also, we'll be updating the software on both the braille notes this weekend. I'll post new version numbers once we're finished.

Hmm, amazing you managed to sell the MB for that price, all the power to ya I suppose, but I would not pay over $850 for this machine. I bought an Apple referbished aluminum MacBook for $899 off the web site, and it look considerably cooler than the basic.
Great offer on the embosser )though it is in a different post obviously), that I can confirm, is a steal of a deal, too bad I bought mine about 4 months back.
Good luck selling the Empowers, I do not believe in note takers for the blind myself, though some users may see uses for them, but they certainly fit some people in some situations.

yeah I love the aluminum models and the mac book pros. it's too bad they discontinued the aluminum non pro models. actually the ironic thing is that I was helping a friend sell her mac book, so that nice chunk of cash won't be making its way to my wallet. (And she set the asking price, not me.) I didn't get that much for my white mac book when I sold it a year or two ago. It's hard to say with the second hand market though. it really can go either way. and yeah, i don't go for the note takers for the blind angle. they're underpowered and overpriced etc. I'll be going for an I pad when I have the cash for it. I guess for those who really must have a perkins style input and or braille display, they are pretty much the only game in town as far as a PDA goes, but, they just aren't worth what the buyer gets gouged for in my opinion. It's interesting that for less than $280 bucks, you can get a net book with more ram, faster clock speed, far more storage space, more I/O options, and a full fledged operating system etc with built in factory restore partition, and fs and other companies can't touch that spec wise for four grand or more. They will have to change their business model at some point. and, in my opinion, that time is long over due. without state agencies and things of that nature, all of them would have tanked years ago. wow, that was longer than I intended it to be! oh well, it's all good.
